Dr. Jacob H. Chung, M.D.
He graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College and became the first Amherst-NIH research fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. At NYU School of Medicine, he achieved the the highest USMLE board exam scores in the nation, achieving the maximum score of 99th percentile. At the University of Medicine and Dentistry (UMDNJ), his ophthalmology residency board scores were also at the top of his national residency class.
Dr. Chung is lauded for his patient demeanor, striving to listen to his patients and put their interests first and foremost. As the one-man IT department at Tenafly Eye, he designed the workflow and programming to achieve an efficient, nearly paperless practice. He has diverse musical playing interests including piano, drums, guitar and singing. Proficient in Spanish and Korean, he regularly participates in medical missions abroad, including trips to North Korea, Kenya, Ecuador, Honduras, and India.
